Swedish Courses in Toronto On Its Way!

SC_swedish
This year has been busy with the launch of our new Nordic language school right here in Toronto! This explains my sparse posting habits, but I promise to get this going too. We begin with Swedish, since that’s the language I’m obviously connected to most. Many of you following my blog have been writing me and asking me about Swedish classes in Toronto, so I finally gave in and got this going after a YEAR of planning!

I’m proud to say that we are now FULLY BOOKED for our beginner Swedish Level I course! We also hope to increase interest in the Conversation Circle class as well. They will be held at the University of Toronto campus. It will be phenomenal, I promise and I hope to bring on more Nordic languages very soon. It is very exciting! YAY!

I want to personally thank Susanne van Rossem, my partner on this endeavor. She has been keeping me in line and on track with her very meticulous nature. She is a wonderful Finance and Student Services Director, and I’m lucky to have her help me with the business. She has been researching the best books, activities and teaching plan to make this both professional and fun.

But let’s not forget our indispensable teachers, Rosita Esgard and Ann Gustavsson. Rosita, who will be our Swedish I teacher, has a very warm personality, full of fun and laughter. I immediately liked her and feel our students will feel at ease with her, which will help to learn Swedish.

Ann, our Conversation Circle leader, will also impress our students with her interest in the latest pop culture, fashion and food trends. Her youth and energy will definitely help teach us modern Swedish culture, as well as the traditions.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. I am sure it will be a success and hope to start something big here in Toronto. Hopefully our students don’t end up sounding like the Swedish Chef on the Muppets.
